CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
I have had a love of competitive sport my entire life. As a young child I played tennis, squash, gymnastics, rugby, table tennis, and cricket among others. However, my main passion was racket sports and I played squash for Devon and tennis at a high level throughout my junior years. At the age of 16 I was offered the opportunity to play tennis full time whilst I studied for my A-Levels at Millfield School. It was here that I first started to train seriously for the sport I loved and develop a sense of how important fitness is to high skill sports.
Whilst studying at the University of Bath I played squash and went to the gym regularly but also took up rugby again. Having played for the university I have since played national league rugby for a number of years. However, I was often finding that my main interest lay in the fitness aspect of the training and I spent a great deal of time researching training techniques and regimes. This was when I came across CrossFit. I found CrossFit Avon online and have never looked back. I love the way that CrossFit tests and improves every aspect of your fitness in a team like environment with constant variety; there is so much to learn and always things to work on. The close knit community is one of the best aspects of CrossFit and I am constantly amazed and inspired at the help, support and motivation it provides.
I gained my CrossFit Level 1 qualification in late 2014 and started coaching at Avon. I really value the opportunity to share my knowledge and to work with athletes at all levels to achieve their health and fitness goals as well as being part of a great community of people.
